Day by Day
Day 1
Upon landing at Lusaka International Airport, you’ll be collected and transferred to Pioneer Camp, just outside the city. Tucked away in the Miombo woodland, Pioneer offers a tranquil escape from the bustle of Lusaka, making it a great spot to rest and reset before the adventure begins.
Day 2
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before departing for the Lower Zambezi region near Chirundu. Your destination is Breezes Lodge, a riverside lodge that offers a comfortable night’s stay before the start of your canoeing expedition. Settle in and enjoy views over the river, perhaps with a sundowner in hand.
Days 3-5
After a thorough safety and logistics briefing, you’ll set off on your three-night canoe trail down the Zambezi River. This section of river winds through remote wilderness, offering pristine scenery and close-up wildlife encounters. Paddle past elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and a dazzling array of birdlife while your support team sets up mobile camps each night on remote riverbanks. This is adventure at its purest.
Day 6
On the morning of day six, you’ll reach your final pull-out point and be met by our team for your transfer to Kasaka River Lodge. Settle into this charming riverside lodge and enjoy the contrast of a warm shower and soft bed. A perfect way to transition from the wild river to lodge comfort.
Day 7
After an early breakfast, we’ll take you on a full-day game drive deep into the Lower Zambezi National Park, famous for its rich wildlife and magical albida forests. You’ll spend the day tracking big game and soaking in this stunning, relatively untouched park, returning to Kasaka in the evening for a well-earned rest.
Day 8
Today you’ll journey back to Pioneer Camp (approximately six hours by road). Once there, you can relax in the peaceful woodland setting or stretch your legs with a short walk in the surrounding area. Enjoy your final Zambezi sunset with dinner under the stars.
Days 9-11
The next leg of your journey takes you to the South Luangwa, either by road or charter flight (optional). You’ll be staying at Wildlife Camp, just outside the national park, in comfortable self-catering chalets—though all your meals will be provided by our team.
Over the next few days, you’ll explore the world-renowned South Luangwa National Park on morning and afternoon game drives, or opt for a full-day drive with a picnic in the bush. Wildlife here includes leopards, lions, elephants, giraffe, and over 400 bird species. Your guide will work with you to tailor your safari experience each day.
Day 12
After breakfast, we will transfer you back to Lusaka by road, returning to Pioneer Camp for your final night if needed. Alternatively, we can arrange a charter flight directly back to Lusaka if you prefer a quicker and more scenic route.
